STS Aerospace in Laconia, NH is searching for an Engineering Technician to join the team. This position uses technical knowledge, problem solving skills, and mechanical aptitude to assist engineers with process and tooling development, data collecting and analysis, and clerical record keeping. Implements disposition of non-conformances as prescribed by engineering. Works with project teams to implement improvement initiatives and reduce risks. Provides direct technical support to internal customers and process stakeholders throughout the manufacturing plant. May perform other duties as necessary to support the engineering team. 

Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include: (other duties may be assigned)

  • Provides direct technical support to internal customers and process stakeholders throughout the manufacturing plant.
  • Inputs data into MRP system; performs various shop floor control and material planning functions as may be required to process rework and customer returned material to meet production requirements.
  • Implements manufacturing methods as prescribed by engineering using best practice six sigma and lean manufacturing theory.
  • Assists engineers with developing engineering change proposals to specifications and drawings. Creates part specific work instructions.
  • Supports cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assists with researching outside vendor product specifications and arranges for purchase of equipment, materials, tooling, etc. Evaluates and verifies purchased products used in production meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Gathers information and data used by management regarding manufacturing capabilities, production times and scheduling, staffing requirements, and other production considerations.
  • Assists engineers with research and development of new product design, required tooling, and efficient production methods on new parts.
  • Possesses a rudimentary knowledge of rigid tube, flexible hose, and metal joining manufacturing processes; applies this knowledge to manufacturing process.
  • Reasonable for accurately and timely moving parts throughout the shop floor.
  • Candidate must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Consistently, regularly and predictably at work and on time.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma required. Associates degree (A. S.) from two-year or community college or university preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
