Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated 3rd Shift Production Supervisor to join our manufacturing team in Mount Vernon, OH. In this critical role, you will oversee night shift operations, ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining quality standards, and leading a team of production workers.

Work Environment:

The work environment is representative of those an employee would encounter while performing the essential job functions in a warehouse environment which may include loud noise levels, vibration, hot/cold temperatures, and moving objects or vehicles.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervise and coordinate all production activities during the 3rd shift, ensuring production goals are met
  • Responsible for nightly shift meetings, workstation assignments/rotations, shift paperwork, timecard and production sheet approvals
  • Manage production schedules, employee performance, payroll, attendance, timecards, training and disciplinary actions
  • Collaborate with other shift supervisors to ensure smooth transitions and consistent operations
  • Consistently evaluate productivity and current staff to optimize production efficiencies to meet schedules
  •  Responsible for quality control, working with team members to adjust as necessary during shift to produce product within specifications.

  • Manage and motivate team members to achieve production goals
  • Support safety policies and procedures within the plant; including safety accident investigation and reporting
  • Schedule, communicate, and conduct shift meetings as needed
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
  • Provide continuous feedback in an environment that fosters open communication
  • Follow all Company policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in computer systems, including ERP software and Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong knowledge of production processes and quality control methods
  • Must exhibit time management skills
  • Regular attendance is essential
  • Professional, detail oriented, and dependable
  • Employee and customer driven

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, business or related field preferred
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role
