Job Description
Duties:
- Develop and maintain expertise in assigned master data domains to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance.
- Manage BAU activities, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of master data requests.
- Deliver MDM-related projects by collaborating with cross-functional teams and ensuring successful outcomes.
- Prepare, update, and maintain process documentation, including SOPs, workflows, SLT documents, and trackers.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage and optimize Vendor Master, Customer Master, Material Master, Finance Master and other relevant master data domains.
- Leverage technical skills like LSMW, BDC, data forecasting, and reporting for data processing and analysis.
- Demonstrate expertise in tools like Winshuttle or Evolve for automation and data management.
- Provide training and knowledge sharing within the team to enhance skill sets and understanding of MDM processes.
- Analyze and resolve data discrepancies by working closely with relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure adherence to established SLAs and governance policies.
- Actively support system upgrades, migrations, and data cleansing initiatives.
- Problem-Solving and Root Cause Analysis: Ability to identify and resolve data-related issues and implement preventive measures.

Qualifications
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Diploma / Any Degree / Post-Graduation
Knowledge & Skills
- Minimum 4 years of experience in one or two SAP Modules e.g., Vendor, Customer, Finance, Material
- SAP ERP knowledge
- Excel - Intermediate to Advanced level
- Ability to think logically and technically to reach answers
- Excellent data analytical skills
- Problem solving ability
- Added advantage: Advanced knowledge in QAD Or Qxtend.
- Added advantage: Experience with tools like Winshuttle, Evolve, or similar automation and data management tools.
- Familiarity with methodologies like Six Sigma, Lean Methods, or Process Excellence is preferred.
- Strong technical acumen in tools like LSMW, BDC, and reporting tools.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, able to set own goals and manage own workload in order to achieve them

Job Purpose:
A strategic pillar of Smiths Detection's Acceleration Program involves a significant investment in enhancing Vendor and Customer Master Data quality. To lead this important initiative within the MDM team, we are seeking a highly skilled Vendor and Customer Master Data Strategist with a strong focus on Data Quality Management. This expert will collaborate closely with teams across Procurement, Sales, Finance, and Controls to thoroughly assess current data challenges – such as duplicates, inconsistencies, and data incompleteness – and develop a comprehensive roadmap of solutions. The role requires deep expertise in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of Vendor and Customer Master data to drive key business outcomes. This position is initially temporary, with the potential for an extension or permanent placement based on evolving business needs.
