Job Description
Under general supervision perform independent evaluation of designs, procedures and criteria using judgment in making changes and modifications in design, material and/or systems.
Utilize engineering judgment and responsibility to resolve customer inquiries.
Troubleshoot by investigating problems to product performance or production difficulties.
- Review & processing of Application Requests.
- Following standard techniques and procedures, select / apply standard or special products to meet customers' needs.
- Generation of engineering proposals / specifications for standard or special products, including determining cost-effective materials for production
- Advanced Seal calculations (including leakage calculations, heat generation, balance temp, flow rates etc.)
- Advanced use of CSTEDY & similar tools for in-depth design analysis, including approval of others’ basic CSTEDY reports.
- In-depth field troubleshooting, including analysis of problems / recommendation & implementation of appropriate solutions, lead meetings with customers in plant or at customer’s site to resolve satisfactorily.
- Detailed failure analysis activities, including full investigation / reporting / resolution with customer with necessary commercial awareness.
- Detailed technical presentations to customers in order to support sales.
- Deliver detailed technical training externally to customers as required.
- Manage and report personal workload, forecast job lead-times to meet customer and departmental objectives.
- Create new or update existing standards to control design criteria, application of products, and procedures.
- Create & distribute technical bulletins, articles, or papers dealing with product, application, or system design.
- Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical/ Chemical/ Instrumentation Engineering
- Experience: 2-5 Years +
- Good to have knowledge of pumps & mechanical seals in Oil & Gas or Petrochem Industry.
- Knowledge of API Standards.
- Solid Edge will be added advantage
