Contributing to our communities and supporting our environment
We aim to improve our world by contributing positively to our communities through a rich, rewarding and enjoyable outreach programme.
This includes our annual, whole-of-company community project day (Smiths Day), a Global Volunteering Policy that offers every colleague one day of paid leave for volunteering activity, and numerous employee-led fundraising activities.
In addition, through our Smiths Group Foundation we fund charitable organisations nominated by our colleagues, with a focus on three goals:
- Improving access to quality Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) education and skills for underrepresented groups
- Improving safety and connectedness within communities
- Improving environmental sustainability
